Become a Volunteer Grandparent:
You can become a volunteer grandparent with a family and/or in a local elementary school. The Family Match program and the School Grandparent program welcome your interest if you:
- Enjoy the company of children
- Enjoy being a part of a family
- Can enrich the life of a child
- Are 50 years or older
- Can share 2-3 hours a week with a child
- Have a desire to assist in the learning environment and be involved in a school community
- Have a desire to learn or practice a skill with school-aged children
It doesn't take much. All it takes is caring, sharing and lots of laughter. Share
in family occasions, explore and be a part of your community with a
grandchild or support a child in the classroom. Become a single
grandparent or volunteer with your spouse. It doesn't matter if you have
grandchildren or not - what matters is that you care and you want to be
involved in your community. As a Volunteer, you will be joining a
growing number of women and men who are dedicated to building strong
communities through intergenerational connections.Volunteer
Grandparents accepts applications throughout the year. We accept
applications from individuals and couples. Here's how you can get involved:

and return the completed forms to Volunteer Grandparents at

What happens once we receive your completed Volunteer Application Package?
- You will be called in for an interview
- A second interview will be conducted at your home
- Your references will be checked
- You will be invited to attend an orientation session
- You will receive match information
- A meeting time will be arranged for you and the potential family match
- Match finalized
- Ongoing support is provided
