Hold the Date: Our summer Volunteer Grandparents' Annual  Picnic is scheduled for Saturday, August 11, 2012 at  Confederation Park in Burnaby.  For sponsorship opportunities please call Veronica Grossi: 604-736-8271.

Volunteer Grandparents’ Staff and Volunteers have been active in the community by promoting our organization at different events like: Hats Off Day, Discovery Day, Canada Day and the Kensington Fair. 

We also hosted our Annual Volunteer Appreciation BBQ at Confederation Park on Sunday, August 28^th, 2011.  This year, over 100 program participants attended this fun filled event including families, volunteer grandparents and board members.   We hope that everyone had a wonderful time!

This year Grandparents Day was held on Sunday, September 11, 2011.

We would like to thank all the children who submitted a drawing for our Grandparents Day Contest. We developed this contest in the attempt to bring awareness to “Grandparents Day” which is celebrated the first Sunday after Labour Day.  

We had a range of entries from both program participants and children living in the community. Here are some of the drawings in response to the question: “If I had a Volunteer Grandparent...” and “I like my grandparents because...”
