Growing from the RootsA Volunteer Grandparents legacy bookIn the spring of 2010 Po-Yi Liu, the Environmental Legacy Program Coordinator for Volunteer Grandparents designed a collaborative book project, aimed at demonstrating the relationship between intergenerational relationships and ecological sustainability. Growing from the Roots is a collection of stories and reflections from the people who have helped to strengthen the Volunteer Grandparents organization: staff, family, volunteers and supporters. The book represents our legacy as an organization, and the impact our program has had on the individuals involved. In the summer of 2011, Volunteer Grandparents reprinted a second edition of Growing from the Roots. Our second edition includes more photos, stories and memories which demonstrate the significance and importance of intergenerational relations, as well as Volunteer Grandparents’ programs in the lives of families, and within our community. Click below to read excerpts from the book. "Preface" "In the Begining" "A Diverse Match" "From Aging to Loving" If you would like a copy of Growing from the Roots, please contact our office. |
